Welcome to My Portfolio

This portfolio contains my best work in pursuit of an M.A. in Instructional Technology at San Jose State University. It is arranged according to the domains of instructional technology as defined in Instructional Technology: The Definition and Domains of the Field (Seels & Richey, 1994), which the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) endorses as the proper knowledge base for the field.

Instructional technology is the process of planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning in terms of specific methods and objectives, based on theory and research in human learning. Theory and practice are the core of the discipline and inform the instructional technologist's decisions in each of the five domains of instructional technology. PDF version of Flash movie

The theme of my studies is adult education for the next generation . I believe that education is the best way to improve the world. Technology is clearly changing the way we live and learn, scaling our social lives to encompass the globe and extending the classroom into our homes and workplaces. The exponential growth of technological innovation is creating a world that requires lifelong learning as a means of remaining engaged in society. My passion lies in devising innovative ways to apply technology for learning; my focus is on improving instruction through the creative use of games, simulations, and virtual environments in higher education and adult learning.
